Why is it that despite a heartbeat, when someone is brain dead, they’re no longer “alive”? Crazy when you think about it right…
Everything we do and don’t do is connected to our mind. Which is in turn connected to our emotional (aka spiritual) state of mind.
It’s all the same- or is it?
Without the mind telling the body what to do despite what the heart feels, we are …nothing. We are just robots with a heartbeat. With an empty soul that has the breath of wind in its vessel.
Walking around wasting oxygen.
The mind must remain open—flexible enough to evolve, even when the body resists. Growth rarely feels comfortable, but it is essential to move through life with intention. An open mind isn’t about embracing everything or doing all things without discernment. It’s about staying receptive while honoring what is right for you—because what fits another’s path may not suit your own, especially when shaped by your unique body, season, or circumstance.
It simply means be open to learning new things from all angles or what most call perspectives, while still having a base to come back to choose what to do with what you’ve learned; A foundation.
The saying goes, “Go wherever the wind blows” which can be applied both literally and figuratively. Be open to going where the wind may take you but be aware when the wind is blowing the wrong way or blowing you smack into a tree. Still have discernment in your journey not to completely shut off your mind to what is common sense in life. To respect your mind and in return you respect your body.
Without discernment to guard against what can harm the body, the mind, too, begins to suffer—often quietly, and sometimes without you even knowing. Over time, the damage trickles in, touching every part of your life, even in the smallest details. And for many, clarity doesn’t come until much later—after too much time lost, too much energy spent on things that led nowhere… leaving only regret to feel everyday.
And while the saying goes, “live with no regrets, because if you hadn’t gone through it you would have never learned”….But is that the case?
Your mind is a vast unique tool that learns by pure influence, observation, and guidance. From the moment we come out the womb, we develop a sense of self that learns to tell our mind what and what not to do (give a command). And if our bodies can successfully listen by not doing it or feeling it, then the reality is; the mind is more capable of preventing damage to its vessel than we think.
To ask a simple question makes all the difference on what we feed our mind to cause prevention of the irrelevant. If a subject matter can be learned by sitting in a classroom, reading a book, and taking a test on its context, safe to say it’s the same with anything else in life that involves applying the heart (feelings). That means the mind CAN (keyword) sit down and learn anything it wishes as it was designed to do…
Of course it is that simple as one, two, three and the snap of the fingers, but because we have a heart (feelings) it requires repetition to study and retain muscle memory given we are always going to have distractions and/or temptations to provide other “options” to veer our minds to something that may not be relevant to what you wish to learn and retain.
Why?
There is always someone preying on someone’s downfall. So as long as those kinds of minds and hearts exist, that’s all the more reason we must apply our minds to guard and protect our hearts-don’t you get it?
Just because something is an option, doesn’t mean you have to choose it. Next thing you know, you may find yourself in what is called the “grey area” or the “in between” because you may have no foundation or not a sturdy one, no base, nor stability which in turn means respect for your mind and body goes out the window. And you start losing trust in others when in all reality you lost trust in yourself- which is all connected back to your foundation or the lack thereof.
So chose wisely.
The mind is just as much an art piece as your body is a vessel. Keep in mind that whatever you put your mind to, you can and will do it-eventually. HOW and WHY it’s done, solely depends on your base.
Whatever that base is that guides you to execute your wants and desires.
Let your mind flourish and see life at all angles. Why? Because those angles exist, it would behoove us not to ignore them so we aren’t ignorant to what could potentially hurt and damage our art piece that we only get once.
Protect your peace because one can only guarantee when you don’t, your body will break into pieces.
Trust your mind is capable of more than what you think, but also don’t forget the heart is there for a reason. Have a balance, train your mind and body to work together as one so their is no competition or battle from the spirit within.
Doing just that allows you to respect and appreciate the Art of the Mind.
